Title:  9th Grade Language Arts Mythology Research Process & Presentation

Description of Learners:  This project is designed for use with all 9th graders enrolled in English 9, regardless of level (CP or GATE).  Modifications may be made at the teacher's discretion to accommodate student levels and abilities.

Goals & Objectives:  Students will research a character in Greek mythology, learn the research process, and teach the class about their topic with a visual presentation.  In doing so, students will:

• access information from print and online resources efficiently and effectively
• extract information from sources using Cornell note-taking strategies
• synthesize information into a visual representation (either poster or PowerPoint presentation) 
• organize a works cited page in proper MLA 7 format 
• make effective presentations
